SOLD. Robbins & Lawrence 1850 on lock and 1850 on barrel tang. US & JH & P at breech. Two cartouches still visible on stock. Wood sound with handling marks and chip missing right of barrel tang. .54 with very strong rifling present. All original except front sight which is a steel replacement fixed in position. Has a filled in dovetail behind the front sight. Original rear sight like those found on M1861 Springfield's. Has reproduction rear sight in place like found on the rifles when first produced. Either rear sight can be used. Mechanics excellent. Was a Drake conversion for Massachusetts troops during the war. Has remnant of MASS. on butt plate, US present also with 69 & G stamped on butt plate tang. Several good photos available on request. $1500.00 plus $20.00 Shipping to lower 48 states.
