Smith Carbine For Sale – made in Italy by F. LLI PIETTA. Gun is in pristine, almost new condition with no real wear. Nice Walnut stock and forearm with nice color case on the receiver. Breech is tight and bore is bright with good rifling. I purchased the carbine from another member of RVM and I was going to shoot it instead of my Garrett Sharps, but decided instead to have Charlie Hahn modify my Sharps so I don’t have use of this carbine.Left side of receiver Marked: MANUFACTURED by MASS ARMS CO., CHICOPEE FALLS and Address, POULTNEY & TRIMBLE Baltimore USA, Smith Patent June 23 1857. Right side of the receiver is marked with CAT 6922-Cal .50 and the serial number is 3163. I have been told that Navy Arms sold this carbine as well as Cabelas and Dixie Gun (currently $895.00) . I have never fired the gun but was told by the previous owner that he had not been sighted it in but he did shoot it and it groups about 6-7” low at 50 yds. Ladder rear sight with peep and blade brass front sight with plenty of height to make needed elevation adjustments. $650.00 with $25.00 shipping. Mike Murray 757-858-0990
