Hallo the Board!
As some of you know from past conversations I am not a skirmisher (*%#$ wish I lived closer!) I am a volunteer historian and educator on 19th Century Firearms and History located in Montana. I interpret for the Montana Heritage Commission at the Nevada City Living History Museum and with 4-H Shooting Sports, training youth and adults in firearms history and lore. I shoot black powder out to 800yds when weather permits.
I have been asked to expand my historic firearms presentation to cover more of the firearms of the 19th century and a bit more in depth. In the past I have covered Flintlocks through the Henry Rifle, now the time frame will be the entire 1800's. I use some originals but prefer to use repros so they can be handled and fired by participants. Thanks to a member here I am able to upgrade my Sharps Rifle to a Farmingdale Sharps. (Thanks HP! )
I am in need of several pieces to represent types or specific arms as follows:
Uberti made Paterson revolver
Spencer Rifle or Carbine in 56-50
1873 Short Rifle
Shootable Ballard rifle (photos indicate this was Capt. J.L. Fisk's preferred long gun)
(wild hair request....a Starr DA Revolver)
I do not have a deep budget for expanding this project and cannot go out to normal retail channels because of cost. If you have something you can part with and help a great cause I will appreciate hearing from you. (Please note: I am posting some duplicate arms to raise funds or to trade, if you are interested)
Respectfully,
Will A
