How much smaller than the barrel bore should a smoothbore round be cast?

Mike,

If you do a search of the topics/threads you will find copious divergent opinions of what the ball size should be, along with which charges of what kinds of powders to use.

Personally, I am going to transition to Swiss powder and a slightly rolled (or not) ball lubed with liquid Alox, as per HP Gregory's and Bobby Elka's advice.
