Whitworth Tap for Maynard Carbine

Gents,

Does anyone know where or if it's possible to buy a 1/4-24 tap with a Whitworth thread?
In England perhaps?

Unfortunately the standard Whitworth threads today are 1/4'-20 and 1/4"-26. Threads used in firearms seldom conform to industrial standards today and especially so 150 years ago before the US adopted thread standards.

I guess then I'll try the standard 1/4-24 tap and see if it helps.

You might give these people a call. They carry BSW 1/4-20, but apparently not 1/4 -24. But, you can ask if they know someone else who might.
