I presently have a Brown Ballard converted to .45 LC using a .457 RB. That part is OK. I have a carbine that has had the hammer converted and a Ballard rifle on its way in the mail. Has anyone figured out what case to use if using the original barrel? My carbine has a decent bore (haven't seen the new rifle yet) and I may like to shoot it without having to reline and rechamber for something else.

Dixie sell a 44 cal case that takes a 22 blank and will shot in the 44 cal ballards. I have them and shoot them from time to time with a roundball. Other than that you would have to ream the chamber for 44 special or mag. It is close enough you can almost use a chamber reamer by hand.
