What constitutes a legal Ballard for single shot competition?

The Civil War military model Ballards in both carbine and rifle versions; the post war military models by Merrimack Arms both carbines and rifles; and the post war military 3 band rifle made by Brown Manufacturing Co.

Are there spec sheets for these variations? I have two Ballards, and I have been unsuccessful finding them in the Ballard book. I'd like to find out if what I have is usable in competition.
