Just picked up a Belgian Liege, and was wondering if any one has exp. shooting one of these. Bullet type, powder charge etc. The bore is in fine cond. with sharp rifling.69cal
 http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c104/32-20/liegemusket002.jpg
Very nice Musket. I for one would be interested to find out how it shoots. Good luck!

I had a nice one once. Piedmontese contract with several manufactures. Looks like yours has the AF and crown which is Auguste Francotte if I have the spelling right. They were imported by the Federals. The 74th PVI had them early on in the war.

I think I read that they were originally smoothbores that were updated to rifles. The bore in the one I had ran 695-697 if I remember right. I never played with it much but did borrow a Rapine 695 semi wadcutter mold that fit my bore well.

Piedmontese Model 1844/60. I use a Rapine .695 wad cutter and 50 grains 1.5 Swiss.
