Fayetteville Saber Bayonet Reproduction?

General question: has anyone ever reproduced the Fayetteville saber bayonet? I know that good Snell and Mississippi bayonet have come out over the years, but never the Fayetteville.

I have the rifle, I have a blacksmith and a machinist that can likely do the work, but I would rather not reinvent the wheel if the bayonets are out there.

Any advice or information would be appreciated!

I'm not aware of any reproduction Fayetville sword bayonet. I think we all know what would happen if they were made in any quantity. The scalloped design on the brass hilt seems it would make a challenging proposition for anyone just wanting to make one to go with a rifle. Short of casting one from an original I'm not sure how it could be done.

Best answer to your question on a Fayetteville Rifle Saber/Sword bayonet is... NO.

A few, sometime within perhaps the past 20 or 30 years, a really nice repro M-1855 Harpers Ferry Rifle Saber/Sword bayonet was reproduced.
The Fayetteville Rifle bayonet is very similar to the '55 Rifle, except in the brass hilt. Fayetteville used a "fish scale" design on the hilt instead of the standard "line" pattern.
The line pattern was used on several other types of bayonets. This made it a practical choice to reproduce.
The fish scale pattern brass hilt should only be used on the Fayetteville. The line pattern hilt could be used on both, and on some of the M-1841 Rifle Sword bayonet alterations. Much more practical investment from a reproduction view point.
