Are these the same weight and design of the old Jerry Harmon dies?

I received one from him a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed with the quality, price, and speed of delivery.

Bruce,
I am not familiar with the sizing dies you describe. My dies are knurled on the top to aid in screwing into the press and have a 7/8-14 thread on the bottom. They have a tapered forcing cone and then are turned to the finished diameter. They are guaranteed to be within .0002 of the designated size. All are 100% inspected for inside diameter as they are made. I also have a version that fits rapines presses.

I should add that if anyone wants to order they can send $27 including postage $25 for the Die and $2 for shipping:

George, Just a bit of history .... Jerry was the only N-ssa member who made a hand die for a period of 25 years. He sold the business and I never heard who bought it. You are 1 up on his design as he never added the thread as you have. Thats listening to what people want. If I ever need another, I will be sure and call you.

I'm a little confused. Easy to do now-a-days. How is the bullet pushed through the die with an RCBS Rockchucker #2?

You screw the sizing die in the press. You then use the ram built into the press to push the bullet through the sizing die.

You can use just about anything to shove the minie through. I have pushrods made out of plastic that fit in a standard 30-06 shell holder. The minie fits in a concave cavity, nose down, and is lifted up and forced through the die.

If you want, you can take a piece of 3/8 dowel and shove it in a 38 special and do about the same thing.

Hope this helps the confusion.

Yep, that helped. Just didn't know if something was being sold to that facilitating. Making up the jig sounds easy enough. Thanks.

I make and sell the plastic push rods for $5.00. They work with the standard 30-06 shell holder. They are available in Yankee Blue or Patriot Gray. I just dont hold that is the only way to skin the cat. A lot of people find it is just easier to get the pushrod at the same time as the die and then they dont have to tax their mechanical abilities and delay use of the fine piece of machinery I have to offer.

Thanks
George
