Original Smith Carbine Cartridge

I was sorting through my Civil War bullet collection this weekend and was noticing the slight differences between an original Smith cartridge and the black tubes we are using. You will notice the current cases have the beveled base and the new case is just a bit shorter than an original by about 1/8".
