This is a very special mould we are releasing.
Our Gallagher 543-300 is named after D.P. Sanders, a member of the 9th regiment, NY VOL Cav who was also the Chairman of the Small Arms Committee for about 10 years.
At the spring nationals, Jeremy Sanders (grandson of the named) stopped by our booth and asked if we could make this custom mould for him and told us the story of how back in the 80's, there were 16 Gallagher carbine shooters on their team - and didn't have many specific bullets available. Collectively, they gathered the information needed to produce a 'custom' gallagher mould that would make the bullets longer, and tapered to fit their casings. Through trial and error, D. P. came up with this design and had only a few moulds made. Jeremy entrusted us with the last one available (and trust me, it was a very used mould!) and so, we are proud to announce this mould, respectively named after the creator, Mr. D. P. Sanders!
I'm hoping Jeremy will add some additional background information, Moose was honored to be able to produce this mould for him - after all, continuing a family tradition within the N-SSA is what this is all about!!!
