Hello. I'm new to this forum. I'm really interested in participating in this organization. I need some help with a gun though. I recently got a hold of an old Navy Arms 2 band rifle. I believe it is their reproduction of the 1863 remington zouave rifles. It hasnt been shot in 15 years and is in excellent condition, no rust, no dings or a single scratch. It has sat in a gun cabinet with a dehumidifier for the past 15 years. I would like to know if there is a way to determine the year it was made by the serial number. Also, if any one would know how much they are worth as well. Thank you.

While I can't speak to the age of the gun, I can tell you that a Zuoave is an excellent gun for skirmishing. I too have a Navy Arms. Check to see if it also says "Anatoli Zoli " on the barrel. Generally, they shoot well and parts are easy to find should you need them. They usually sell for the $300-400 range.

Where abouts do you live? There is a skirmish going on this weekend in Statesville NC - You anywhere in that area??

I have a Zoli Zouave that I got back in 1977 and the serial number is 17XXX. I am still shooting it with great results. They are great skirmish rifles.

On the right side of the barrel near the breach you will fine two letters like AC, BD, excl. That tell's the date the barrel was proof. If you post the letters on your barrel I can tell you when it was made.

Found great reliability with 48 grains of fff GOEX and a .575 Lyman wadcutter mini. Lots of lube (Maximus Lubricus Slikum Bullicus).

Thank you all for your help. I looked at one of the articles and it said my gun is a 1970 model. There is no letter stamps. There are roman numerals numbered XXVI. And yes it is made my Anotnio Zoli.

From 1954 To 1974 they used X XX and so on then they changed to the A and then the B. The XXVI is for 1970.
