Could you elaborate on the type of pistol this is? It appears to be an 1851 Navy. Is this an N-SSA approved arm?

This is a 1851 Colt in 44 cal. when I was shooting you could but not up to date on rules today. This is a presentation model and you may not want to shoot. I use to shoot a 1861 Navy Colt and loved it. Wish I had one now

I agree that it looks like an 1851 Colt, but it looks like an 1851 Colt Navy, which was never issued in .44 caliber (they were .36 caliber), and thus is probably not N-SSA legal.

I had the same problem - I've got a pair of Pietta .44 caliber 1851 Navies that I bought long before I discovered the N-SSA, and discovered that I could not use them for N-SSA shooting.

Fantastic looking revolver and display case though.
