I recently purchased an H&R trapdoor model 1873 Springfield, the cavalry model. Under the rear of the stock is a cartouche branded into the wood. It is an ornate letter P, possibly with a smaller letter underneath the P, within a circle. Anyone familiar with what this might indicate, if anything? Thanks
