This is one of the more unusual items I've found in public collections recently. Here's a slideshow of some of the pages of this oversize ledger book:

Battery Rose Dew or Rosedew was on Rose Dew Island, at the mouth of the Little Ogeechee River near Savannah, GA.

One of the more important pages is the detailed description of the weapons in the battery. Unfortunately I don't think a single one of those weapons survives today.

The weapons are interesting as a collection in that they were all either cast in Richmond during the Civil War, or converted in the South. The one possible exception is the 32 pounder gun with no markings.

The 18-pounder Confederate iron siege gun listed, bearing Tredegar number "1110" on the muzzle face, was one of six ordered from Tredegar Foundry by the State of Georgia and shipped to Savannah on March 2, 1861. This information is from Olmstead et al, THE BIG GUNS, Museum Restoration Service, Alexandria Bay NY, 1997, pp. 195.
