As requested by so many of you at the Spring Nationals, the .54 Cal Wilkinson Mould is now available! The size of the bullets are .538 since we found that many skirmishers are sizing them down to .536 or .535.

As with all our Moose Moulds, they come complete with handles, $100 for single cavity or $125.00 for double cavity, plus S & H. We also offer them either right or left handed, so please specify when ordering.

Additionally, all orders placed in the next two weeks will also receive a sample of our newly released "Moose Juice" mould prep at no charge!

Please contact Sandy at moosette@moosemoulds.com for ordering information - moulds will ship within 2 weeks of order. For your convenience, we accept PayPal and personal checks.

The .58 Cal Wilkinson mould will be available in the near future - keep an eye out on this bulletin board for details.

Have a great weekend, hope to see ya on the line soon!

Moosette,
Any chance Moose moulds could make some of these in .533?
My R. Hoyt barrel has a bore of .533. My opinion .005 is too much to swage off.

Hi Wayne - after reviewing your request with Moose, he said it is possible to size down .005 by using two different sizing dies. However, if we find that there is a great demand for this particular bullet in .535, we will most certainly offer it as one of our stock moulds.

Hope this helps, if you have any additional questions or require further information, feel free to shoot me an email at: moosette@moosemoulds.com

Have a great night,
Moosette

Moosette,

The Austro-Hungarian Army ordnance standard for the bore of the Muster 1854 System Lorenz rifles was 6 Linie 4 Punkt (i.e., 13.9 mm/0.547 inches). [And the Federal and Confederate ordnance services said that a U.S. standard ".54" caliber cartridge could be used in .55 caliber rifles??? Very bright of them.] The Austrians swagged their bullets at 0.540 and used a greased paper patch to bring them up to 0.547. Since we so authentic in the N-SSA that we can't use paper patches, have you considered making a Lorenz/Wilkinson mould in 0.548 inches? If your design is a good copy of the original Lorenz design, that could provide a "naked" (i.e, unpatched) bullet that could be used in the original bore of System Lorenz arms.

Regards,

Thanks for the information Don - as mentioned earlier, if there is a demand for a certain size bullet, we will offer it as one of our stock moulds. Please keep in mind, we are a newly formed mould company and even though we have our target list of moulds to be produced, we are trying to accomodate each skirmisher with their needs. The Wilkinson was one of the hottest moulds requested at the Spring Nationals in .54 caliber. (.538 diameter)

We are hopeful to have a variety of different mould styles available for the Fall Nationals. In the near future we will be posting the moulds we have ready to produce - keep an eye on this bulletin board for further updates.

Enjoy your Fourth of July holiday!
