I am in need of a small screw that secures the leaf spring to the rear sight base in an 1853 Enfield. This is an original rifle musket-- in fact it is a Birmingham-made 1861 Tower Enfield. I don't know if a reproduction screw will fit. If you can suggest a new-made replacement or substitute, I would like to know that as well. Also, if you happen to know what thread it might be, that would also be a big help. Thanks!

Bill,

Try 6-48. It worked on my original LACo P53, 1862.

Hi Bill,
I just found one under Lodgewood Mfg. Check it out, they have an exact repro. of the rear sight and the individual parts including that screw you are looking for. It may fit. A while back, I lost the same screw and I think I may have bought it from them. Good luck.
