I was wondering if anyone has shot an Rapine International or the Rapine Old Style minnie in these barrels? How were they in grouping and what type of powder charge did you use?
Thanks

I shoot the Raypine International mine out of a Zouave that is relined by Hoyt. I use 45grs. of 3F and it shoots very well especially at 100yds on days that there is a little wind.

I have been shooting the Rapine International Minne for 6 years out of my hoyt barrel twist 1-60 and 47 grn fffg. Best overall bullet I have used in 33 years. Put it this way in my gun it will shoot small clover leaf size groups at 100 yds off the bench and put the hodgon bullet to shame at 50 yds. Rich Foster,Dismal Swamp Rangers

Gentlemen: mind if I ask what lube you are using with the Rapine International? Thanks in advance. Tom

Lens Lube. Don't know if it is still available. The fellow that made it went out of business.

Sorry to hear that. I may only have 20 lbs left. Hope it lasts as long as I plan on skirmishing

Gentlemen: Please forgive a request for clarification from a relatively new BP shooter, but could you provide the mould number for the Rapine International bullet you are referring to so I can insure I try the correct bullet? Many thanks in advance.

rapine used the size and weight of the bullet as his mould number this along with what he decided to call it. most of my hoyt barrels take a .577 455 international. so its .577 in dia and weighs roughly 455 grns. he made them in a number of dias to fit the most popular bore sizes. sadly ray has cut his production so you may have to find a used one. check them closely since they are aluminum and wont put up with a lot of abuse.

I would try Moose Moulds. They are an enthusiastic new mould making company with positive feedback from their customers. Go to the for sale page on the BB to read about them, and with contact info.
