This picture of a Williams gun taken in the 1890's was sent to be by a member of Loomis Batt.. I later found it on the net. As with most of the small guns this one also has light carriage wheels.

Seeing the construction of the carriage with the barrell mounted only mounted on a long pin, it is understandable how a yankee could sneak into camp and steal the Williams gun barrel.
