Please share your pet loads for original Springfield 45/70 trapdoor rifle , blakpowder and MRI 3031 smokless.. also loads for Remington, 1871, 50/70 ,rolling block , original . I will be using Star line brass for both rifles. Thanks--Red Leg

45-70 1888 TD
Saeco 1881 500 gr OR Lee 405 gr HB sized .459, 20/1, SPG lube
70 gr Swiss 1.5F compressed, .030 wad with the 500 gr bullet, no wad with the 405
Winchester brass
Federal 215 large magnum rifle primer
.50-70 1868 TD, Sharps converted 1863 carbine 3 groove barrel
Lee 450 gr as cast .515, 20/1, SPG lube
70 gr Swiss 1.5, .030 wad
Bell brass
Federal 215 primer
I also get good results with Starline brass, annealed.
I don't use smokeless in my BPCRs

for my 1884 :
RP brass
Lyman 457193 greased SPG and sized(?) to .459
50g of swiss 3FG
a 0.05 inch wad on a .32acp of wheat semolina ( enough to fill the 45-70 brass)
primer federal large rifle magnum
soft and excellent for 110/220 yards , for long range 500g bullet is better
