I know a bunch of you have those 60 pound lead pigs (ingots).

On youtube there are a couple examples of how to cut lead using a log splitter....

If you have them you might want to check it out...

If ya don't have a log splitter nothing beats a sawsall with a pruning blade in it. Will cut through the pig in 15 seconds ;)

Or the low-tech way to do it is to lay it on the ground and pound a hatchet head through it with a hand sledge hammer. This will leave a dent in your lawn...

I just take mine to the nearest fire station and leave them. They 're happy to practice on them with their "Jaws of Life."

Bandsaw works well after you run a little wax into the blade.

PJ - you're a genius! Tried the reciprocal saw with a medium pruning blade on a half inch thick sheet. Worked like a price - hot knife through butterish. The only caveat, it spewed little lead bits down below. Keep area beneath clean so lead can be swept up and used.
Somehow it never occured to me to use a wood blade on a metal. Wonder how that happened. Much propane fuel wasted.
