One of my teem mates has a new smith and it seems to lead up at the end
of the muzzel any thoughts on how to stop this ??? :roll:

Sounds like your lube is running out. Try something a little more stiff. I have had the same problem with my Henry. With a different lube, it can make all the difference for accuracy and ease of cleaning.

You may also want to slug the barrel. Late model repro barrels are true .50 cal, with .004 grooves, so a bullet .508-.510 fits it. A very oversized bullet (.518-520) may be exacerbating your teammate's problem.

Could be a problem with that small a slug with the cartridges most use? May need a lot of sticky lube to hold her in.

never had aproblem with .510 in new black tubes. If you recycle old tubes that used larger bullets shot in a larger chamber, then yes, the bullets will be loose in the tubes. Biggest problem was getting the tubes into the chamber - very tight even with smaller bullets.
