Shooterjim:

First, welcome to the N-SSA board. There's much to be learned here.

Your Lyman mould, depending on minor machining variations, should cast a minie of about 510 - 515 grains if you use pure, soft lead (as you should).

The miscellaneous numbers on the block are Lyman identifier codes of little or no relevance to users.

I don't know what your experience is with these bullets, but for best results you'll want to run them through a sizing die to produce a projectile some one- or two-thousandths smaller than bore diameter, and lube them with a compound such as MCM, Bore Butter or a mix of beeswax and Crisco.

And on this board, the word "lube" is much like a hockey puck: toss it down, and get out of the way!!

I have a 575213A. It seems to be a slightly smaller diameter than the plain 575213. I have a terrible time getting the skirts to fill out - I'd be interestedto hear if you have the same problem

I have a 575213A mould and it casts the same as my 575213 Ideal I bought way back when. I have been told that some of these letter markings can be intials of someone who made the mould or a different plug design. Like PH for Parker Hale etc.
