Not exactly a practical skirmish rifle with the sights. I wanted to build a CS rifle that wasn't a Richmond or a Fayetteville. Barrel is a Whitacre, stock Dunlap. Lockplate, buttplate and triggerguard came from a Euroarms carbine. Bands are of course 55 rifle.<br>I hope the pics come out, this is my first attempt.

Very nice rifle, Confederate Guns are fun to build, specially ones that are not being made by the Italians, or other mfgs (nothing against Italian mfgs by the way they do a great job).

I modified the front and rear sights on a Euroarms J.P. Murray Carbine, and it shoots real well (glass bedded also). I made a taller brass fnt sight, and sil soldered it into the original slot. I made a taller rear sight with a peep arpeture. I mention this as maybe you want to try it on your rifle. It will really make a difference @ 50 yrds, 100 yrds is not bad using Kentucky windage either. you are allowed 3/8ths in high from the base on rear sights.

Maybe I can get some pics up.547548549550

Just an idea for you to ponder.
