Any suggestions for a Shiloh Sharps Military Rifle bullet? I understand that Rapine had some before they went out of business. I notice that NEI Handtools sells several Sharps moulds on their web sites but don't know which one to pick. Also, any suggestions on type of lead and load info would be appreciated.

Chuck, I ordered a custom mould from Brooks Moulds, it cost me $180 but it was well worth it. Its the ringtail (christmas tree type). I use it in my IAB and Shiloh sharpsI heard rapine mounds are good too if you can find one, I hear if your lucky you can find one on ebay. I get great results with soft lead so I dont even try the hard stuff. Anyway good luck with it.

Has anyone out there tried 20/1 alloy in a Pedersoli? I have some ringtails from Montana laying around that I thought about trying but I'm not sure how'd they'd perform in a deep groove barrel.

If you are using Charlie's tubes, Brooks has a mould that Charlie designed specifically for the tubes.

I will have a limited number of Brooks Sharps moulds I have made to Lyman diameters as well as my Harper's Ferry Burton bullet at the Spring National. I will be in a new location across from the Rebel Trading Post look for my banner.

gemmer,
I add 3 oz of wheel weights to 1 lb of pure lead for my Sharps bullets. I cast the Rapine ringtail and it shoots equally well in my Shiloh carbine and Pedersoli infantry. Hope this helps some. BTW, the charge is 50g of Goex FFg.

I know some will shoot this down, but I had REAL good luck when I was tried out round balls in a test ......
