Greetings to all: After 8 years of sitting and collecting dust, it is time for me to start shooting my Smith carbine. The barrel has been sized by Bobby Hoyt to .516, I have the mold, and was told along time ago what load to start out with. Of course I cant find the document with the load amount on it. There is a public rifle range about an hour from me where I can bench the carbine in. I use FFFg Goex powder and just need a range of loads to bench it in.

Any assistance would be appreicated

Thanks in advance

My son-in-law shoots an original Smith with 28 grains of 3f and a 350 grain bullet sized to.518 in the black plastic tubes with great results.

Rapine 370gr bullet backed by 31 grains of 3Fffg. Bullet is tight to the bore (I get a lot of back pressure) but drives tacks and wins National Medals (if I do my job).
