I'm looking for several items or for someone who can help me track down this stuff. I'm a new member and could use some help. What I'm looking for are as follows:

- .58 New Style Minie mold, needs to cast them at or around .582 or .583 so i can size them down to .581. The only ones I've found tend to cast a bullet way smaller than what i need.
- .581, .582, .580, sizing dies. cant seem to find these on my own but I'm looking for the push through ones you can mount to a drill press. They're usually dark colored with the size stamped on the rim on one side.
- Melting pot, preferably used and for a fair price.
- And any other advice or contact info that might help me find this stuff or anything else I may need in the future. -Thanks!

George Gompf, who shoots with Forest Escort Team, Deep South Region, makes dies any size you need. Also makes several types of bullet molds in several sizes. He should be able to get what you need. Super nice guy.

From your list you seem to need almost every thing.

Since you are close to the Fort, I would suggest you spend a few weekends there to talk to folks there and pick up a few odds and ends. To get your best deals, I would wait for the Nationals to get the best deals. You will find dozens of sutlers and competition always gets your best price and save money. I would also suggest you buy a small Lee lead pot to start. They are cheaper than the other pots and work fine for beginning. Sometimes, with used pots, you are buying some one else's problem.

There is a list of sutlers on the main page browse there and shop around. In addition, there are other supply houses that you can find these things. MidwayUSA ( midwayusa.com (http://midwayusa.com)) Natchez Shooters Supply ( natchezss.com (http://natchezss.com) ) are two I use quite often. Tom gave you a good steer on custom moulds.

Welcome to the N-SSA. Hope to meet you sometime.

I can provide you with original style 500 grain minie molds, double cavity or the new style wad cutter mold in about 315 grain, also double cavity. I can also provide sizing dies to be used with standard reloading presses to any diameter you need. You can contact me at tnmolds@gmail.com

I appreciate Toms recommendation and his continued patronage.
I would disagree with Ed, though. I believe you will find that a 20 pound pot will work much better for you in casting minie balls and there are several places you can get good 20 pound electric pots. I have had poor luck using bottom pour pots with minies. They are great for round ball but not my choice for minies. You are welcome to drop an e-mail and we can talk about your needs.

Thanks
George
