mold : Lyman #311008 , a 115 gr. RNFP with 2 lube grooves & a flat base.
type of lead : 1/20
size to? : Slug your bore, size bullets 1/1000 over (but, if you have say a .313 bore & only have a .312 sizer around, try that to start, as they will slug-up)
spg? : Yes, works well, but note, if you size & lube bullets & then let them sit for a long period of time the lube will rot.
brass : Winchester is best, (thinnest) then Starline.
primer : Winchester SRP to start with , (try others on paper for groups)
grains goex 3f : The amount that allows you about 1/8" of compression of the powder. (if you are able to push the slug into the case after loading use more powder, as this bullet seats over the ogive, having no crimp groove)
filler? : None

the other research I did recommends either small rifle or small pistol primers...did you mean small rifle?

also, the max overall length seem to be identical to 44wcf, 1.592 in...how does this sound to you?


are you a skirmisher as well as a levergunner?

I really enjoy reloading my 44WCF Henry ammo and am looking for a good shooting 1873 rifle or carbine in 32wcf

I feel like my granddaughter might enjoy this! So I'm going to learn to load the 32-20

Yes, primers should be "small pistol".

Yes, OAL is the same for the 44-40, 38-40, 32-20.
All the Win '73 models have the same length brass "elevator". Think of it as a built in max. OAL gauge.
Crimping depending on the bullet crimp style, some have no groove & are crimped over the ogive, others have a crimp groove.
