I just bought a Model 1863 combination tool. Are there sources for reproductions of this takedown-maintenance tool?

Try Lodgewood, S&S Firearms or The Regimental Quartermaster. There should be links to all of these sutlers on the home page under links of interest.

Not only am I open to suggestions, if anyone knows of a small business or machinist, or other who makes the tool - or might be willing to make one or more - please let me know.

New made from steel, finished bright. Tool is 3 5/8” long overall and features an open end nipple wrench. The other end can be used as a screwdriver. Two blades; one stationary; and one that is 2 ¼” long which swings to the side. A handy item to keep in your cartridge box

Naphtali,

Are you looking for the M-1863 com/bo tool as is depicted in the Ordnance Manuel for that particular M-1863 firearm?

Naphtali,

Are you looking for the M-1863 com/bo tool as is depicted in the Ordnance Manuel for that particular M-1863 firearm?I have no familiarity with the manual. Mr. Holland furnished a link to a Dixie Gunworks took that appears to be what I seek. Perhaps this information will tell you whether it is what the manual illustrates. And you could then let me know?

If you have no familiarity with what is pictured in the 1863 Manual, you will not be at all disappointed in what you have been shown thus far.
Please do not to worry over it.
