Scott,

I shoot an original Maynard and have tried the RCBS w/ solid base sized to .518". I was not satisfied w/ the results, so I went back to my Rapine 350 grain solid base bullet sized from .520" to .518". The Rapine bullet and 35 grains of 3f gives me consistently excellent results.

Mike, thanks for the info..ill see if I can find a Rapine mould, they seem to be hard to find lately.

Scott,

A team mate of mine aquired an original 50 cal. Maynard 2nd Model carbine right after the Fall Nationals and he purchased a six cavity Smith/Maynard bullet mold (.515 & .518) from Lodgewood, that they just recently restocked, and is having excellent results with it.
