WTB an original 1841 Mississippi rifle

I am hoping to find an original Robbins and Lawrence of Vermont, 1841 Mississippi rifle that was issued to the 46th Mass Regiment of Volunteer infantry, would be even better if it was from Co F.
GGGG grandfather and his brother were in this regiment and died at New Bern NC, and are buried there, it would be nice to have a relic of the Regiment for a family heirloom, condition is not that important.

I truly wish you luck in finding the weapon you are looking for.

Do you know if this weapon was in the standard issue M-1841, .54 cal, type Rifle? Or was it in one of the various modifide variations as was produced at Hapers Ferry post 1855?
These variations can be very distinctive and rather complex in their variety.

You may not be able to find an original of this Rifle... but you maybe able to find folks/persons here that can produce one for you? Would that work for you?

I picked up a generic Mississippi shooter (1848 Whitney, muzzle turned for a spike bayonet, N.J. contract) at the annual February Civil War relic show in Dalton, Georgia a couple years ago. There were literally dozens to choose from earlier this month at the mega CW show in Franklin, Tennessee. First Saturday in January you'll find a selection at the annual CW show at the Gaillard Centre in Charleston, S.C. Good hunting!

Thanks for the replies, The rifle I am looking for underwent the "Drake" conversion at Robbins & Lawrence to accept a model 1855 bayonet, I believe they were bored out to .58 also. Another one of my ancestors was responsible for the Drake conversion. Relatives that were in the Regiment were Jothan & Issac Drake. I have seen a couple on Gunbroker from the 46th, but Company D & E but they were jumped on by a buy it now before I could secure the funds.

They are "out there" but you are going to have to hunt for them. Gutterman had one for sale two years ago marked to Co. K.

Keep an eye on Amoskeag Auctions in Manchester NH. They have an excellent website and often have Model 1841s. I attended an auction there several years ago and they must have had 6 or 7 1841s. All makers; Robbins & Lawrence, Whitney, Harpers Ferry. Some were in really good condition. I know at least one sold in their last auction.
