I know this will be a tough one, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. I need an original Model 1855 musket barrel for restoration purposes. It doesn't need to be too fine, so long as it is not relic condition. Actually, light speckled condition would suit me fine. For this purpose, full length is better than cut, but I will consider almost anything. If you have something laying around the basement, please give me a shout.

Jim, Sorry, I can't help you there--I'm in the same boat. I have an 1855 3-band musket with barrel dated 1861 (with M'61 leaf rear sight) but with a Harpers Ferry Lock dated 1860. This is a real hodge-podge with an older stock with brass nose cap and no patch box. Some time ago I offered on this BB to trade that barrel for an authentic M1855 barrrel--no takers. Now, anybody need parts? Make offer.

Jim, Richard McAuley has been trying to contact you, but the email address he has for you doesn't work. Says he has an original barrel that may interest you. Call me at 731/925-6410 for his email address, or e-mail me at Ken@ShilohGuide.com (he is a very private person and may resent my giving you his address here).

Ken- Sorry to say I just got this message. I will get hold of Richard. By the way, if you want to give me a call at 217/415-5767, I might be interested in your parts
