I have to replace the barrel in a Pietta "Shooters," replica Remington 1858 revolver.

I would assume that I would simply remove the cylinder, loading lever assembly and then clamp the barrel in a BIG vise and unscrew the barrel.

Are the barrel threads Right Hand or Left Hand?

Anyone done this job before? Can you offer any "Tips" and insights to make the job a little easier?

THANKS!!!!

Southeron Sr.,

Right hand threads to install.
Which means removing the barrel is always "counter clockwise"! A little heat doesn't hurt.
I hope this hepls,
Blair

Be careful and don't bend the frame. A frame wrench is the prefered way to remove a barrel. A Colt Single Action Army wrench insert would probably fit the Remmie.
