Looking at cutting down a 3 band Richmond Euro Arms to a carbine.
What is the best way to put the nose cap back on and do you need it?
I hear talk of cutting the cap with the wood inside off the full size and then after you cut to the correct length glue and pin the front wood and cap back on. Then reshape the stock down to the cap at the end. This was said to make it easy to refit the cap without the need to shape the wood to the inside of the cap only shape the stock down to the cap..
I may have seen some that were reshaped with out the nose cap being on, but that may be on a smoothbore or some different gun.I know I need to add, front sight, and sling swivel on the stock at the back. What else is there other then cutting down the barrel?
I ask this because I'm thinking about doing it myself or giving it to someone at nationals to do.
And if John Holland reads this can you send me the spec in email of what the small arms looks at on them.
