me and a 12 foot mako or hammer head need not meet upclose alive.

Rick,

Having done a few shark dives in my life I "getting them into feeding frenzy for photo oportunity" , But have not fished for the " I would be pissed if I was fixing to bite into my dinner only to find out I am now hooked and fighting my dinner and maybe my life" I would recommend the largest handgun availible or a bullpup 12 guage shotgun with 00 buckshot.

But your right taste great, let it maranade in thousand island dressing over nite then through on the grill.

I have an S&W 460 S&W Magnum I would let go of but it is no POS but it would save your life. Are you sure you would want a POS to rely on for life saving?

I have an older brass framed replica of an 1860 Army in .44 cal that I have not used in a while. The only real flaw is that the loading lever catch, near the muzzle of the revolver, fell off. Evidently, it was only soldered on. Since you probably won't be reloading on a boat anyway, you could hold the lever in place with a rubber band.

Not sure what to ask for it; I know its no prize piece. I live within driving distance of Winchester, Va; I could meet you there some time and let you look at it.

Let me know if you are interested.

When Ernest Hemingway was having similar problems with sharks off Bimini (in the Bahamas) he bought a Thompson sub gun from an old rum runner. Chum up a bunch of sharks, wait for them to mill around close to the boat, then cut loose. Problem solved.

It's not CW period, but I would suggest a nickle plated Mossberg 12 ga. pump with composite stock. As some old time cowboy once said, "She ain't pretty, but she's sure permanent!" Green

Let me know when you want to go shark fishing.
There are a lot of these floating around, I could look one for you, and it should get the job done.

Why not use a bang stick in 12 ga?
