Gentlemen
The primer hole in my Maynard has assumed an oval shape and will no longer fire . Can it be fixed, if so who possesses the skills.
Thanks

It can be welded and re-drilled. Another fix as developed by Steve Doyle, has an insert placed in the old hole and can be replaced as the hole widens over time. This requires drilling the old hole to fit the insert. I have heard that Dan Whitaker is doing Steve's process to repair Maynards and Smiths. The opening of the receiver primer hole will lead to your carbine losing accuracy. Sometimes this can occur very fast, but with replaceable inserts you can be up and running in a matter of minutes.

Dan also sets up at Nationals, in the row of buildings at the E end of Sutlers Row.

Sorry, don't have contact info for Steve Doyle.

If he can't do it Romano definitely can and will.

Pahdnah, I had Larry Romano reline the touch hole on old #446 that I have been shooting... a while. Came over to the big sandbox before I had a chance to work it in, but will be able too soon. Looks MUCH better though. Regards, bob
