Am in need of advice! I have a pretty nice original 36 Remington Navy. The cylinder appears to be from a Beals, but functions fine. Now for the problem. The nipples are battered and need of replacement...no problem so far. The nipples measure .201x36 threads per inch! Never heard of such a thing! They also have a notch cut into the sides for installation with a spanner wrench as opposed to the usual kind with the flats on the sides. Where can I get such a thing? If not possible, can I use colt nipples? Will they thread themselves i :? f done gingerly? Where do I go from here? Wormey

One rule of life is to ALWAYS install nipples with the SAME thread pitch as that of the holes in the rear of the cylinder.

Google up "The House of Muskets" in Colorado-they manufacture nipples and might can be of help to you.
