Howdy Folks!

I have acquired an ancient Singer 29 cobbler's sewing machine and want to make some belts, shoulder straps for matchlock cartridge dohickeys, etc. Surely Tandy is not the best game in town. Or is it? I am having trouble finding suppliers on internet searches.

Stephen,

For small operations, Tandy may be the best source... especially if you buy whole sides and then slit your own belts. I bet there is a leather crafting site on the internet somewhere that has discussions among the real enthusiasts about where to buy leather!

Check with a local co-op or other place that sells gear for riding horses. Frequently they will have leather for making repairs. Also, If there are any Amish near you, they usually have some for sale.
