Dear Fellow N_SSA Shooters, I am hoping that one of you can help me find a book. The subject was metallurgy of blackpowder firearms. The author actually did destructive exams on old firearms to characterize the metal structures. I remember it was "self-printed" (typed text and copy machine with hand drawings) by a man from Alabama about 15 years ago. I learned about it through a notice/review in MUZZLELOADER magazine and bought one directly from the author. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I need title and author. Anyone have a copy for sale? Thank you for any information. Respectfully, Dave Mertz - CVG

Hello Dave,

I don't have the book or paper you asked about. I do have a book FIGHTIN IRON. Is about the metal alloys used in firearms and swords. It probably has more information than you want, but you can proabability find all you want to know in it.The author is ART Grogan. It is a very good book.
