Does anybody have a Bullet mold for a Maynard carbine they would like to sell? How about some place to buy one?

IIRC there were variations in the bore size of the Maynard. You might want to slug the barrel to be sure of it's size before buying a mold. Others who are more knowledgable about Maynards and post here will fill in with more info, I'm sure.

Marty,

As Bill Shuey indicated in his posting, you should slug the bore of your Maynard before buying a mould. I shoot a .518 diameter bullet that weighs 350 grains (bullet cast at .520 and sized to .518) with 35 grains of 3f. The original ammunition manufactured for the Maynard differed in size as well - .518 to .525 with weights ranging from 332 to 443 grains (Thomas' "Roundball to Rimfire", volume II, pages 171-172).

Thanks to all of you who replied to my post. I slugged the barrel and found it to have a couple of issues. I have determined that I need to get it relined and them I will get a mold to fit the relined barrel. Amazing how such a tiny little thing can cost so much. It's a lot like having kids again! I will hopefully will get to shoot the old girl next year. I will hopefully meet many of you in the future as at Nationals.
