i see some of you guys looking for a press to load your revolver cylinder. in my mind a press gets the best out of a revolver. it seats the ball or bullet exactly the same each time. more importantly it compresses the powder the same each time. i find that this can make a big differance in how a revolver shoots.
i am very fortunate to have a press made my bobby elka. bobby makes a beautiful loader. the workmanship in bobbys presses is impressive. he settles for nothing less than perfection.
for those of you who dont know bobby. hes been in the shooting sports all his life but bobbys fairly new to skirmishing. he used to work for roush racing. hes now self employed working out of his small but very well equipped machine shop in his home town.
i dont know how many presses bobby plans to make but if you can talk him out of one i promise you wont be unhappy with either the price or the workmanship. bobbys one of the good guys in the sport.

How about taking an ad out in The Skirmish Line magazine or even a short article about you and the press and some pictures?

Thanks Bob and Mr. Gadget. Will they fit both Colt and Remington cylinders (and their clones) and how much do they cost? I specifically need one for the Navy/Pietta Remington .44 I just got. I can't be at Nationals this year because of a commitment to help ride herd on a table at NRA, but I could have one of the guys from my unit pick one up for me.

I too find Bob's work outstanding. I have a Uberti/Remington 1858 New Model Army .44 Revolver and the press works well on it. Bob engraves your name on the base which was an unexpected bonus.

I purchased one of Bob Elkas loaders and used it for the first time at a skirmish at Toupelo MS. It works fantastic. Very nice piece of machinery. Thanks Bob!

P.A.Laake makes a mighty fine press. His can be configured to .44 Remington or Rogers & Spencer, or .36 Remington, or .44 or .36 Colt--that is, the same press can be. It is made of aluminum. His price, quoted to me recently, is $80.00.

A fellow on our team just took delivery of a revolver loading press from Bob Elka. I had the opportunity to use it at a regional shoot this month. Very nice equipment!

I'm right now assembling the presses to be delivered at the fort. I normally engrave the persons name on the base if anyone was thinking of a purchase at the Nationals this would be the time to speak up if you wanted the engraving. I will have some available at the Fort if anyone is interested. They are $85 a piece and I thank you all for the interest . See ya at the Fort. ......Bob Elka 1st Mich..........

Shamelessly back to the top but I'll be leaving next friday (9/26). I'll have some loaders available but for anyone that wants the engraving or .36's I need to know by wed or so. They are still $85 delivered at the fort. I will be working the revolver range this Nationals so I should be easy to find for anyone interested or see HP Gregory when he's not busy. Everyone have a safe trip, Bob Elka 1st Mich..............

Not sure about the Walker because of length of cylinder. The ones I have now work great for Rogers & Spencer or Remington.........bob

Would like to have you make up one of these for my M1860 Colt. Please let me know how much extra to add for shipping, and where to send payment if shipping is an option.

TIA

Tom
