First I'd like to thank everyone for their help. First, my rifle has a regular breech plug not a patten breech which is good, it also has a flat spring lock which the guy I took it too said was a good thing. No skirt in the breech or anything like that. In fact it was something that was a simple oversight on my part, the last guy who had it had drilled the nipple out for some reason. Having never messed with musket caps or nipples I didn't pay any attention that the hole was enlarged, so bought a new nipple now the rifle wants to shoot better. Coolest part though was the day I took it to the local range to test it out there was a group of Class III guys there blasting away, everytime I'd shoot the zouave they just stood there watching. Made me feel good about the zouave when fullauto guys would rather watch a civil war era gun than their own. I'm going to shoot it some more then decide if I'm keeping it or try something else.
