Does anyone here know offhand whether the Ideal 557489 mold will work ok in the Pedersoli 1859 Infantry Rifle, or is the diameter too large for the Pedersoli rifling. I ask because I do not have my rifle in hand yet, but have a line on a mold. Any other recommendations besides having Steve Brooks make me one? I want to be able to use Charlie Hahn's tubes.

I have a Pedersoli New Model 1859 Carbine. I have used the Lyman "X-Tree Bullet in it" The Rapine copy of that bullet and also bullets cast from the Pedersoli Sharps mold sold by Dixie Gun Works.

My experience has been that ALL three styles of Sharps bullets shoot accurately if they are properly cast, weighed, etc. My "best ever" group was obtained with the Lyman X-Tree bullet-it was a 5 shot group "off the bench" @ 100 yards that literally made one small, ragged hole in the target.
