i know i have seen this before on here but don't have the time at the moment to look it up. after firing a few rounds through my plastic smith tubes they are starting to swell at the end where the bullet goes in. i remember in the last post someone said something about running them through a sizing die to make them back to original size. can anyone tell me what size it would have to be or a better way of doing this. i have 200 tubes and dont expect them to last forever but the few that i have fired 3 times are nearly impossible to get out once fired. any help is greatly appreciated. also if anyone has a lyman 515139 mold they would like to sell please let me know. thanks

tfirth44,

The gentleman who can help you with this subject would be Joe Plakis Jr. He sizes the tubes for his Smiths, I believe he has 4 of them. He can probably make you one, but would need to know your bullet size, chamber size, etc. If he sees this post and responds, He could tell you more of what is involved. Hope this helps you.

There is a Sutler at Nationals that sells sizing dies for the Smith tube. I make my complete round and then size the whole thing. Works pretty darn good!

I'm suffering from CRS right now and his name escapes me. Its John someone-or-other... I'll dig up the box and post the info Wednesday.
