Skirmish season is rapidly approaching...
This is an original Mass Arms Co. contract Second Model Maynard cavalry model .50 cal carbine (S/N 131XX).
All-original, all parts intact, with sharp and legible inspectors' cartouches on the walnut stock, barrel, front sight, and buttplate.
Barrel is deep blue; receiver is brown-gray patina. Some minor dings and light scratches on the solid stock, but still considered a display-grade carbine.
Original sights, sharp, mirror-finish bore with IMPRESSIVE rifling. ABSOLUTELY NO pitting in PRISTINE bore! No rust anywhere.
Saddle ring and bar fully intact; nothing is missing or broken.
Works are fully functional and tight with a full set of spare internal lock parts and nipple included (ALL ORIGINAL).
Included is a spare "skirmish stock"; a beautifully-figured tiger-stripe (16+ stripes/inch) American maple buttstock (with repro buttplate), as well as a brass front sight protector and wood barrel tompion.
This rifle not only looks good, it is a 'tack-driver'. I was able to consistently break 10+ pidgeons on the skirmish board, as well as routinely pick up more than my assigned share of skirmish targets on the other carbine events.
Also included are the following items:
--421 full-load brass Maynard cases (gently used but no cracks)
--custom-made black leather pouch with metal belt clip for spent brass
--cleaning rods
--carry case
--load data for 50 and 100 yd. ammunition
Photos e-mailed on request.
Available now for inspection and sale to local buyers.
This carbine is ready to skirmish and looking for a good home.
Asking $3,250 plus insured shipping (negotiable)
