I was contacted by a member of the 69th NYSV Historical Association, http://www.69thnysv.org/, looking for a used smoothbore '42 musket along with a properly fitting bayonet. He will be using it for reenacting purposes only. If anyone out there has one that they are willing to part with, let me know and I'll get you in touch with each other. There is nothing in this for me, just hoping to help a reenactor pick up what he is looking for while at the same time helping a skirmisher sell something. PM me or send an email to irish1861@aol.com

Thanks
Jack Conway

I believe you will find that the 42 has been cut down to make Makon Conversions in most cases. Hot item right now.

I have an 1842 Smoothbore which my husband, who recently died, shot. It is in good shooting condition and I can't imagine that someone would want to pay my price for a gun to reinact. But we can discuss if you like.
