Folks, I need some help here. Does anybody still manufacture a Sharps ringtail bullet? I have searched this forum and the web sites of the usual suspects and I havent found a vendor. Can someone provide a lead? I would also consider a used set of blocks. If there are no "off the shelf" options, what advice could I get for a custom mold? Thanks, Bob E

Bob,

A couple of Sharps ringtail bullet moulds have recently been sold on this bulletin board to individuals seeking them. Charlie Hahn or Jim Brake might be able to help you locate one once they read your post. I myself am looking forward to shooting my original Sharps carbine I aquired last year and had Charlie Hahn work on, and I also will need to get a ringtail mold so I can shoot it this year. I believe I am going to order one from Brooks Bullet Moulds out of Montana. I asked Charlie to slug the barrel for me, and he then recommended the ring diameters for the mould. Here is Brook's web address, and there is also a company called NEI that can make them too if you want to have a mould made.

Hope this helps you.

Hello:
I have a few molds for the ring tail bullet but it would be best if you could slug your barrel so the correct size bullet is known. I can send you a couple of three different bullets to use to slug your barrel for no charge to help out.

Steve Brooks makes custom molds and although they are not inexpensive, the right bullet makes a world of difference.

There are bullets available at WWW.dixiegunworks.com (http://WWW.dixiegunworks.com). They also have a mold but it is for the pedersoli and may not work in your gun.
