I use gator den (Putch) (reduced capacity) in my original 56-50 carbine-Hoyt rifling

What kind of .56-.50 Spencer chambered breechloader are you shooting: Armisport, Romano, Belgian, original M1865 Burnside/Spencer Arms, Ballard, or Gallagher?

If you're shooting one of the reproductions then Starline is what you want to use. Original Spencers either in .56-.56, .56-.52 or .56-.50 require brass cases that are manufacturered or remade specifically for them, which are available from Buffalo Arms. If you're shooting a reproduction, Starline is certainly the least expensive at about $0.80 each ordered directly from Starline per 1000. Ordering them in smaller lots or buying from someone else, you're going to pay more.
