The following is a detailed description to add...

Yes, small chip on corner of forarm wood.

Also one @ the size of the tip of a ball-point pen on the upper left side of the butt-plate corner @ the top of the small scratch that can be seen in photo of buttstock.

The screw on the bottom of the tang has had the wrong bit put in it at one time. not horrible but not crisp.

On the left side of the barrel there is an area of blemish to the blue on the left side of the barrel. It is mottled for @ 1-1/2" maybe the size of a quarter & a nickle. Location is @ mid-point, shows up as white grey mottle in pic.

Where the saddle ring is you can see a small indent where a carbine sling was attached. (In pic)

All in all, really small stuff.

From what I found on Ser. #s' Shiloh started in Farmingdale NY @ # 200 in 1972 & were up to #1,999 in 1978.

The Big Timber, Montana guns started in 1984 with # 6122.

Mine is #1359, so it is one of the early Farmingdale guns.
